She’s a Lot Media Co. is always open to receiving submissions and pitches for new freelance articles to publish on our website. While we love seeing submissions from experienced writers, we encourage more novice writers to pitch us with their great ideas as well.
If you’d like to pitch an idea for an article to us, please reach out via email with the subject line “FREELANCE PITCH.” In your email, please introduce yourself, attach or link to a writing sample, and include a 2-3 sentence explanation of your pitch.
If you don’t have a specific idea in mind but would like to be added to our freelancer list, please email us with the subject line “FREELANCER REQUEST.” Once on our freelancer list, we will email you quarterly with specific articles we are asking freelancers to write and/or the types of articles and pitches we are looking for in the next quarter.

Freelancer FAQ
What do you look for in a freelance writer?
We look for exciting and well-developed ideas and sharp, clear writing. The ability to make a strong point and write in a clear and concise manner will matter more to us than how many pieces you’ve had published in the past.
While we sometimes assign pieces to freelancers, a freelancer who can come to us with ideas that fit our content and style and show a clear understanding of our brand is the type of writer we love to work with.
What types of writing can freelancers do for She’s a Lot?
We accept personal essays, critique pieces, in-depth explainers, guides, and interviews with women who “are a lot.” Our content verticals include beauty, style, home, food, lifestyle, self-improvement, culture, books, career, and finance.
What if I don’t have published work?
Even if you don’t have any published work, we would still be interested in hearing from you if you have ideas you’d like to pitch. In lieu of links to published work, please include a resume and an original writing sample that you upload to the form – this can be any piece that you feel demonstrates the strength of your writing.
How should I pitch ideas?
When it comes to a good pitch, a well-developed and clearly communicated idea is much more important than a perfected title or ironed-out details. Make sure you explain your idea thoroughly in 2-3 sentences and include, most importantly, what it’s about, why our readers would care, and what makes it relevant (timeliness, newsworthiness, etc.).
